- If you really want something badly, it’s okay to take a bite. Enjoy! Often when we have a craving, we only need a few bites to feel satisfied. Save some of the treat for tomorrow. The portions we typically buy or are served to us at restaurants are typically way too large. Portion for yourself before starting to eat.
- If you binge eat one day or one week, it’s okay. The body naturally fluctuates. Just get back to routine the next day, and the extra weight can go away quickly. If you’re on vacation, it’s also okay to take the week off and enjoy new foods. No need to be discouraged and give up. Instead, set really easy health goals to get back into confidence and healthy routines again.
- Leave room to celebrate! If you achieve a personal health milestone, celebrate for a few days! Enjoy that wedding. Eat well on that beach vacation! Indulge! Afterwards, mentally set up a time to get back to routine again without feeling bad about letting loose. The journey to good health is positive, optimistic, and enjoyable.
