Our healthy eating journey begins with some ground rules. You’re more likely to enjoy the process if you focus on these mindsets.

  1. It’s not a diet. It’s a lifestyle. Gradual goals leading to healthy sustainable habits. The faster you lose weight, the faster you’ll gain it back… and more.
  2. Everyone’s different, but everyone is capable of change. Goals should be personalized and different for everyone.
  3. Be optimistic. Our progress is emotionally positive, hopeful, and forgiving.
  4. People > principles. Maintain relationships. Eat with friends. Make exceptions.
  5. Keep it simple. Don’t overcomplicate it with numbers and fancy words.

Homework: Set a small goal.

  1. Review your food journal from yesterday and the list of “why”s.
  2. List 3-5 overall changes you want to make toward better health.
  3. Write down 1 specific, easily achievable, very realistic small goal that you can confidently start with for the next 7 days.
